This is Robert from The College Investor, and I am excited to show you today how to open a Roth IRA at Fidelity. Now, Fidelity is by far my favorite discount broker, and Im going to show you why. Not only do they have a full range of accounts and services that they offer, they also offer a lot of free investing options, so when you think about saving for retirement and investing, you dont have to pay costly commissions, because there are free options that are easy to use and just so simple. Thats why I love Fidelity.
They have straightforward prices. They have great tools. They have great customer service, and so Im going to dive in.
Im going to show you how easy it is to open a Roth IRA here. You might have seen some other articles in this series, opening accounts at Vanguard and TD Ameritrade, and youll see I get a little frustrated in some of those articles because they do not make it easy. Fidelity does, so lets dive in. Im going to show you here how quick and easy it is.
This is the Fidelity home screen, and you can go right here to the top, and you can select Open An Account. When you click this button, you can do a bunch of different account options, because they have a lot of services. You can do brokerage, cash management, rollover, traditional Roth IRA, 529 plans.
But were just going to do a Roth IRA right here, so were just going to open that online really quick.
We are here, so, Are you already a Fidelity customer? Im going to go No. Then you just enter your name, email address, all that good stuff. Well put this in here, were going to put this in here, and were going to get started.
Then you have to enter your information right here, and you are almost done. Im not going to continue through this, because theres a lot of information here, but as you compare this to other accounts that we have opened and weve done on this show, man, this is 10, 000 times easier, so when youre thinking about opening an account, Fidelity is my top choice. Now, lets talk about pricing.
Right? They put their pricing right here in the front, because it is super straightforward, and this is why I love Fidelity. What I love about them the most is that theres zero dollar per trade for commissionfree purchases of Fidelity and iShares ETFs and zero dollar for Fidelity funds and hundreds of other funds with no transaction fees.
Honestly, you can open a Roth IRA with zero minimum, so you can put five dollars in your account to get started investing, and you can invest for free with their ETFs and mutual funds with no commissions. If you did want to go with stocks, theyre 4.95 per stock or option trade, which is one of the lowest as well. Its not the lowest, but its one of the lowest, and they have a lot of other services as well, but honestly their ease of use. There are no annual account fees.
There are no transaction fees on thousands of funds that are both Fidelity and nonFidelity. It just makes Fidelity the best choice for individual investors that are getting started, so I highly suggest that you open a Roth IRA or other account with Fidelity and you get started with them. All right, guys, this is Robert from The College Investor. If you want to check out our other articles in this series, we show you other brokerages, TD Ameritrade, Vanguard, other ones at the top there, ETrade, so I highly suggest that you check it out and you get started investing today.p
